grip v3.1.1 starts but no gui

I recently installed grip v3.1.1 for gnome 2 and it worked great.. I tried it out for a few days and loved it.. Well, about a week later I put in another cd and run 'grip', it doesnt give me an error, it just sits there and no gui pops up anymore.. I dont quite understand it.
