Grief with installation
I have been trying to install kdevelop 3.2.0 on my Mandrake 10.1 laptop. when I type ./configure i get the following message:
checking for KDE... configure: error: in the prefix, you've chosen, are no KDE headers installed. This will fail. So, check this please and use another prefix! I understand from other threads that I need to find a file called kdeversion.h and if this is not on my machine i need to install a kde devel package or something of that sort. I have used the locate command to search for the file and it doesnt not appear to be present. I then looked for a way to get this kde devel thing but have not been able to locate it anywhere. Does anybody, first know if this is what I should be doing, and second, if it is, where do I get it from? Thanks :newbie: |
My guess is that are are trying to install Kdevelop from source code after installing KDe from pro compiled binary's ?
Pre-compiled binary's lack the source code needed to compile other kde components. either install the kde source code, o install kdevelop from a pre-compiled binary |
