graphic problem in SuSe 11.0

When I start up SuSe 11.0 I get the following message just before entering KDE: "1600x1024 60hz out of range" and nothing starts further on, so I rebooted and entered through FailSafe.
In FailSafe I controlled through Yast2/Sax and my desktop screen has been configured as 1280x1024 60hz, just like before in SuSe 10.1 en SuSe 10.3. I controlled xorg.conf, nothing mentions anything like 1600x1024, nor in any other .conf in /etc/x11/.
My graphic card (also the same since 10.1 and 10.3) is a ATI Radeon RV280 5964 with all correct drivers and configuration.
So I changed it into 1154x864 75hz and everything working perfectly now. But I never had this problem before and I never changed anything into 1600x1024.
My question is: what happened? Where is the mistake, I want to have my normal settings back (1280x1024 60hz) without any problem. Is this a bug perhaps? How to solve this?

What was you,re color depth in suse 10.1 and 10.3 ?
And what was it in suse 11 ?
Are they all the 3 the same ?

They were all the same: 1280 x 1024 60 hz, but only SuSe 11.0 gives this strange problem changing into 1600 x 1024, just before starting KDE, but I did not change anything nor xorg.conf indicates anything like this and nothing has been changed in sax2.
So, how come that something in SuSe sees 1280x1024 60 hz like 1600x1024 60 hz? I think it's a bug somewhere.

That is why I had to change the color depth now to get KDE started. But of course I want to go back to the original one, you may understand.
Thanks for your advice.
All the best
