Granted myself Access

I finally got Mandrake v10 Official Edition on my computer last night. It's SAWEETA. Now I'm working on winex so I can get my CS up and running :P.

Only one slight (I hope) problem. When I try to save the cvsroot of winex into /usr/src/wine ... it says "Access Denied".

How can I grant myself access? I am the only user on this computer.

Please reply asap, I WANT TO PLAY!!!

Thanks in advance,

Download it into your home directory. Use su to become root. Move/Copy it into the directory. You will then need to be root (via su) to use the files.

Thanks, that worked. I have one final problem :/...installing the file.

For reference:

File I need to install: SteamInstall_CS.exe
CD-Rom Dir: /mnt/cdrom
WineX Dir: /usr/src/winex

How do I install Steam? I tried typing (in the cdrom dir) "wine SteamInstall_CS.exe" but it gave me this message:

[root@x1-6-00-50-8d-f7-b9-3c cdrom]# wine SteamInstall_CS.exe
wine: chdir to /root/.wine/wineserver-x1-6-00-50-8d-f7-b9-3c : No such file or directory

What do I have to type (please use exact syntax as I'm new to this) to install Steam and then what do I have to type to run Steam?

Thanks again,
