Grab picture from video4linux device? (Capture card + video camera)

I'd like to know if anyone knows of a program that is similar to vgrabbj that can capture pictures from a video4linux device (capture card + video camera) that allows me to specify things like channel?

I'm trying to get 'stopmotion' working with a nice camera (instead of using some crappy usb webcam), and all I need is a program to grab images. xD

VLC media player allows you to open a video4linux stream, with a bunch of options including specifying a channel. Then you can just use "snapshot" (under the video menu) to take a screen shot

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ probably has a binary package for your distro

Try Avidemux (GTK). It can go frame by frame and even export to jpeg each frame.
