gpixpod & tripod issues
ok sorry for being so vague in the subject line.
I'm using a ipod classic (don't know how to find out which generation, only a couple of weeks old)
and am running xfce4 on ubuntu
when I start gpixpod, I am asked to provide some db file - I seem to find something of the sort in .../IPOD/iPod_Control/Device but then I get an error:
> You are using an iPod None. Please quit now: your model is not supported, and it never will be. It does not have a color screen and it does not support photos!
well, I'm sure the program is wrong. I started gpixpod from command line so I give you my response:
Problems opening /media/IPOD/iPod_Control/Device/Photo Database/iPod_Control/Device/SysInfo. Does this file exist? If it doesn't exist, then it should be an iPod shuffle?
Problems opening /media/IPOD/iPod_Control/Device/iPod_Control/Device/SysInfo. Does this file exist? If it doesn't exist, then it should be an iPod shuffle?
Traceback (most recent call last):

(yes, the file /media/IPOD/iPod_Control/Device/iPod_Control/Device/SysInfo does exist)
so, as gpixpod does not want to connect the ipod, I try tripod.
I can upload photos, thats great (have yet to find out how to delete them without it crashing and how to sort, but thats a minor prob)
when I look at them in ipod I can view thumbnails, but when I try viewing a pic fullscreen (which I hope it's supposed to be able to do), the screen just turns black. I can walk back and forth and go back to the menu alright, although sometimes it crashes and I see just an apple...
help very much appreciated. thanx, pat
