Angry gphoto2 crashes

Well, i doubt i would get an answer for this, but i'll try anyways

I recently installed SuSE linux, from Mandrake and when i went to upload pictures from my HP Photosmart C 120 Camera (USB), it would see the thumbnails in the program, but when i went to save them, the program would just crash :S

It was wierd because it used to work with Mandrake, but to no avail on SuSE....

mabye i'm using the old lib package, but when i downloaded the tar file and i went to ./confgiure then make, i would just get an error..

help please

Thanks

Mark

There seems to be a few bugs in gphoto. Thus you can most likely transfer them off your camera from the command line.

Most digital cameras are mass-storage devices. This means they works exactly like a hard disk or cd-rom.
The filesystem will most likely be FAT32, so you can mount it like any other FAT32 filesystem.

What version of SuSE are you using? On 8.2 I could only get the command line working (as root, which didn't sit well with me), and none of the guis worked... They did exactly as you said. On 9 I can actually use the guis and like it better than my windows software... I did days and days of searching on 8.2 and gphoto2 and gtkam and digikam, and just found out SuSE's support of them on that particular version stunk.

Wish I could offer a solution... but I never found one either. Except with the upgrade.
