GParted not resizing...error, no data loss (I think?)

I tried to resize my ext3 filesystem and shave off like, 10 GBs for a Debian install and GParted freaked out halfway through and sent me back to the main thing, and nothing was changed. I checked under details and it asked me to run

Code:
 e2fsck -f /dev/sda3
That gave me

Code:
e2fsck 1.40.8 (13-Mar-2008)
Pass 1: Checking inodes, blocks, and sizes
Pass 2: Checking directory structure
Pass 3: Checking directory connectivity
Pass 4: Checking reference counts
Pass 5: Checking group summary information
/dev/sda3: 190484/10141696 files (1.5% non-contiguous), 11786803/40558100 blocks
Hopefully no data loss! Haha if I do it's fine I guess :/

Oh, yeah sorry.I was just wondering what I had to do to make that error stop. I just wrote a GParted live cd and I'm gonna see if that makes any difference.

Any suggestions? It's a relatively simple process :/

"freaked out" isn't too informative - limits our ability to help.
fsck fixes filesystem errors - hopefully you can proceed. IMHO the gparted liveCD is always the better option; ensures partitions being changed aren't mounted.

Sorry about that guys...The liveCD worked out fine, and it's all good.

Thanks!
