HI ,

Happy new Year . I have one question.

I recently installed gotmail on suse linux 9.2 cause i don t know any other programs that wil help me download my email from hotmail. i VE INSTALLED it and i manage to run it but when it's trying to connect i get that :

curl performs SSL certificate verification by default, using a "bundle"
of Certificate Authority (CA) public keys (CA certs). The default
bundle is named curl-ca-bundle.crt; you can specify an alternate file
using the --cacert option.
If this HTTPS server uses a certificate signed by a CA represented in
the bundle, the certificate verification probably failed due to a
problem with the certificate (it might be expired, or the name might
not match the domain name in the URL).
If you'd like to turn off curl's verification of the certificate, use
the -k (or --insecure) option.

Did you tried ?

launch it with -k and see what happens

Hotway. I use it to download my hotmail. It creates a POP3 server that will download your Hotmail. Optionally, you can also use hotsmtpd to create an smtp server to send your email through hotmail, but I've never used it, because I just use sendmail instead. I've never had a single problem with it hotway, though. If you can't get gotmail to work, you might want to try hotway

I like the idea of hotwayd. Anyway, Is there an email client that support Hotmail ?

And by the way, hotwayd ... is ok, but what did you need to do to get it worked (only with pop)

Do you mean is there an email client that supports the HTTPMail protocol through which hotway connects to Hotmail? There are only two email programs that do, and they're both made by Microsoft, and only available on Windows. Those are Outlook, and Outlook Express.
hotway will work with any mail client. Once hotway is up and running, simply set up a pop3 mail account, with the server being 127.0.0.1, or localhost, your hotmail address as your username, and your regular hotmail password as the password. It'll download straight to your mail client.
This page has instructions on how to set it up, but I installed it using the rpm, which set everything up for me.
