is it possible to use googlemail account (UK version) in gaim using msn protocol?

i have tried it but it didnt work, so googled around found some results that suggest you can but i obviously couldnt.

can anyone with a googlemail account, not gmail, let me know if they are able to, and how?

we have recently changed ISP to TalkTalk and personally i think their rubbish, because i cant access all sights, email with google included!

cheers in advance

thank you for your advice I have now got googlemail setup on jabber and it signed on fine.

i want to use only one email account, that means googlemail, i wanted to still be able to chat with my friends on msn messenger. does jabber enable me to do this? i noticed that of all my contacts on my googlemail account only two of them were showing (off-line) where is the rest?

in other-words is there a good user manual in the house.

I don't see why you can't use a @googlemail.com address with MSN. You did register for a Passport, right?

You can use that Hotmail account for MSN then. If you want to use your @googlemail.com address (or any other address that isn't a Hotmail one) with MSN, you need to set up a Passport.

Yes, because you're still using the MSN protocol.
