google earth - running under proxy
 

Hi,
I have downloaded the Google Earth Version for Linux.
I am using the net through a Proxy.
I get the following error when I try to run the Google earth and when it connects to google server.

Google earth detected an error while trying to authenticate
Please check the following
-your network connection
-your firewall settings
(are you blocking /usr/local/bin/google-earth/googleearth-bin?

Error-code 29

It did not help me either.
Can anybody suggest me a solution

I am eager to try the google earth......

Have you set the environment variables HTTP_PROXY and http_proxy appropriately?

i have set it like this
export http_proxy=http://myroxyip:8080

is it correct
