To close this thread, I am just giving my solution:
I bought a 30 bucks NVidia GE 8400 GS - and now Google Earth runs.

Instead of fumbling around with drivers of the onboard chip (which is cumbersome and did not lead to a quick solution for me), I decided to do it that way.

Worked.

Google earth is 32 bit. Running 64 bit linux causes the libGL error.

Solution:

# zypper install Mesa-32bit

Thank you weibullguy, thats the Solution of the problem. After installation of Mesa 32 Bit form the Linux DVD Gogle earth starts without Problems.
