Unhappy Google Chrome and file manager

No matter what I do I am not getting Chrome to work well with the file manager I am using (I've tried with thunar and spacefm) but nothing works. When I click "open folder" or when I try to open the downloaded file nothing happens. I tried everything I could with xdg-utils.
Thanks.

PS: I am using ArchBang (ArchLinux)

Anyone? I tried Opera and it didn't work either. Strange that Firefox, that came installed as default, works flawlessly.
