google auto complete stopped working

i'm using mepis 8.5 and google auto complete stopped working. i go to the settings in google and set it for "use google instant" but it doesn't seem to stick. the only thing that could be a possible cause is i was trying to view a photo slideshow from a cd and thats when the google shut off. don't know if theres any correlation but thought i'd throw it in there
thanks
Pat

What browser are you using? Have you tried other browsers? Firefox, Konqueror, Chrome, Opera, etc.

You probably switched off autocomplete in the settings somewhere. I'm not familiar with that browser, so I couldn't tell you where though.
