Good software for Tv tuner under linux ... !?!
Hello everybody,
I have an RH 7.2 linux distribution and I have also an Pinnacle Studio (PCI) tv tuner. I'm looking for a good software for this tv tuner under linux. I found something on the 2nd RH 7.2 CD, something named "xwatv" , if I'm not wrong. I can't see the image on the full screen. The problem is the following: when I chose full screen the image will remain in the center of our monitor and the rest of the screen will be black. How can I configure or do something with that "xwatv" to see the image for cable TV on the full screen ? Do you know some other good software for tv tuner which support full screen ... the real full screen not with black frame around ? :) :) :) Best regards. |
xawtv is the right program, if it isn't running full screen then you probably haven't loaded the video for linux X module.
Edit /etc/X11/XF86Config-4, find Section "Module" and add a line Load "v4l" |
Thanks dorward , maybe this was the problem.
I'll try . In addition to the last question . Do you know how LIRC works ? I undestud that it is useful for remote control. On my TV tuner box I had also a remote tool, but I don't know how to run lirc to control the TV tuner with that remote control tool. I installed the LIRC, but I don't know how to proceed. Run first lirc and then xawtv or ... ?!? It doesn't work . Regards. |
