Good linux-friendly wireless LAN adapter?
I need to connect my desktop via wireless to my network. I'm running Red Hat 9. Right now I have a Microsoft Wireless USB adapter (MN-510) but cannot, for the life of me, get it to work under Linux. Any suggestions out there for linux friendly WLAN adapters other than PCMCIA cards since this is for a desktop and not a laptop?
A USB one would be the best...though I suppose a PCI adapter could work. |
You should just get a Linksys WET-11 Wireless bridge and plug it into your ethernet card. Easy as that! I think that you can snag one for around $100US.
(of course, you'll have to config the bridge for your wlan) http://linksys.com/products/product....id=36&prid=432 Hope this helps! --Mike |
