Good email program for children

I'm looking for a good email program for my son. He's only four years old, and he does not "use email" per se. However, I have an address for him that we use together to send drawings (tuxpaint) and some photos to his grandparents. They write back and that's all the email he gets for the most part.

We are using evolution, since that was the default with edubuntu. Evolution has scads of features, and I can't knock it a bit. However, there is one feature I would like to see: pictures. There is space to put a picture in the contacts, but no way I can see to really use that picture.

It would be nice to see the picture displayed by my parents' address when they send email, or to have the picture appear when you click "To" and the list of contacts appear. I would of course, expect that to be an option, but apparently it isn't an option for evolution (2.10.0 here). Otherwise, I believe evolution can be used to limit emails to only certain people, good junk mail filtering, etc.

I have only a simply request, but maybe other parents and school people have other thoughts. What email program are you using?

Thanks!

That is a hard issue, I don't have children and I hope that I can help. If I were you, I would give a try in Thunderbird, it's my favorite email client, furthermore, here where I work, we implanted Thunderbird as the default email client, even who never had used a email client, get familiarized really quick. I don't know with the pictures options is available, but you can try.

Give feedback.

See ya.
