good applications for developing webpages


want to write a shell program which shall generate a web page / web pages (with certain parameters supplied as command line arguments). what application shall i use and how should i approach?

uh... any text editor will suffice for writing shell scripts.

nano, pico, vi, emacs...the list goes on.
I'm not sure exactly what you want. Are you asking for programs to help you write a shell script?

So, are you asking what is good for writing webpages or for writing shell scripts? I would tend to answer the same for both - a good ol' text editor - but if you're asking about webpages, then I can also recommend Quanta, BlueFish and Screem.
