Hi group,
I have a running problem with Gnuplot. It is complaining about:
Code:
gnuplot> set term png
Terminal type set to 'png'
Could not find/open font when opening font "arial", using internal non-scalable font
Options are 'nocrop medium '
gnuplot>
I have spent hours looking for a work around and it looks like the only 'fix' is to override the 'default' font. So I need to find out which fonts I have on my system. A 'locate' for 'fonts' shows a boat load of them.
On a debian system the truetype fonts (of which arial belongs) can be found by
Code:
locate ttf
why not install msttcorefonts and then you would have arial?

Must be an old How to?
Well, I got gnuplot to find the new fonts by using:
Code:
export GDFONTPATH=/usr/share/fonts/msttcorefonts/
in my .bash_profile.
Still don't see why a Linux version pf gnuplot requires M$ fonts??
