gnuplot 4.0 is driving me crazy

After hours of reading docs, I've managed to set up x and y correctly. Only one problem remains; no line is displayed in the plot.

Can you solve this mystery?

Here's a sample of the data:

08/30/04 23:30 06:10
08/31/04 00:00 04:40
08/31/04 00:30 02:50
08/31/04 01:00 07:30
08/31/04 01:30 09:44
08/31/04 02:00 00:90
08/31/04 02:30 05:22
08/31/04 03:00 03:50

And here is the gnuplot script:
set terminal x11
set grid

set xlabel "Time"
set ylabel "Load Time (min:sec)"

# x axis
set xdata time
set timefmt "%m/%d/%y %H:%M"
set xrange [ "08/31/04 08:00":"08/31/04 12:30" ]
set format x "%R"
set xtics rotate

# y axis
set ydata time
set timefmt "%M:%S"
set yrange [ "00:00":"10:00" ]
set format y "%M:%S"
plot "cbimon.log" using 1:3 with lines
pause -1 "Hit Return to Continue"

Thanks goes out to both pgmeno and newbien in #linuxhelp for showing me that the value of xrange was not matching any data
