Question gnucash not running with suse 9.1 personal

Hi,
I am a new user of Linux. My distribution is SUSE 9.1 personal.

I installed gnucash using a link that I found in one of this forums threads (gnucash rpm 1.8.8.49). It installed OK (no dependencies). Now, when I try to run the application from KDE, I see a the computer is trying to open the application but after awhile the computer just quits. It never opens....

Does anybody know how to solve this problem?

do you get any errors? have you tried running it from a shell?

run as regular user from a shell, and post any errors you may get.

I ran it using KDE. I did not get any error prompts.

I am at work right now but I'll try it as soon as I get home.

Thanks

Hi,
This is where I got the RPM from:
ftp://mirror.mcs.anl.gov/pub/suse/i386/9.1/suse/i586

Also when I run the gnucash application from a shell this is the error that I get:
ERROR: In procedure dynamic-link:
ERROR: file: "libgw-gnc", message: "libgnomeui.so.32: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

A friend from work suggested that I should look for the source file and compile it again....

Please advise

Thenks

I think you have to install Gnome and all the dependencies.

that's the info from the Gnucash site:

http://www.gnucash.org/en/required.phtml
