GnuCash - No Suitable Backend Error on Debian

I have some GnuCash files that were originally created on a Ubuntu setup (both were/are 64 bit systems to my knowledge) Whenever I attempt to open a .log file, I receive the following message:

Code:
No suitable backend was found for PATH/TO/FILE
I believe I just used the XML format; however, I did try install both the PostgreSQL and SQLite drivers just to be certain. I am still receiving the message. What else might be the problem.

I am using GnuCash 2.6.15 and Debian 9.

Thanks.

Thanks, ChuangTzu. I read through the article and the CIFS to NFS solution seems applicable to me (though I do not much about file systems or networking to be honest). To give a little background, these files were created on one PC and stored in my DropBox account. The system got corrupted, so I am now using a different PC with a Debian install. Thanks.
