GNU parted

Hi all

I just tried to make my current linux partition smaller.
I used a boot floppy and the GNU parted program but an error occured while resizing the hd.

This is what it looks like:

[...]
(parted) print
Disk geometry for /dev/hda: 0.000-19546.734 megabytes
Disk label type: msdos
Minor Start End Type Filesystem Flags
1 0.031 15.688 primary ext2 boot
2 15.688 392.211 primary linux-swap
3 392.212 19539.997 primary ext2
(parted) resize 3 392.212 16000
ll_rw_block: device 03:00: only 1024-char blocks implemented (50179)
block 4424432 ref error! (->210820 {23845, 2136})

Maybe one of you guys has already made some experiences or just knows how to fix this problem.
Or someone knows of any other similar program that can be used to get some free space on the hd

thx & bye

nic

I'm not sure what it was, but maybe run fsck on the partition?
