Gnu linux equivalent of anydvd, dvd region free ??


I've finally taken the plunge and hosed my xp partition, having a lot of fun coming to grips with ubuntu, unfortunately had to reinstall xp with vmware and qemu because I cannot find a gnu linux substitute for anydvd or dvd region free, can anyone tell me if there is one

don't need to worry about region encodings in linux. there's no need for anydvd in linux...

Thanks for the reply your right, funny I installed mplayer, xine, totem, had problems when switching from region 1 to 2 just tried vlc my default player, it works fine, fancy I made a mistake when installing the others.
