Unhappy Gnomemeeting won't connect to ANY ILS servers

Hi All:

I'm trying to use Gnomemeeting 1.2.2 running under Mandriva 2005 LE (2.6 kernel) with no luck at all. I realize that there is a newer version renamed Ekiga out there but I'm using Gnomemeeting until the bugs are worked out of it. Seems it has a raft of installation and connection problems of it's own along with the feature allowing the user to register on an ILS disabled (why the hell anyone would disable that is beyond me unless it was an unintentional glitch).

I've tried to connect to the Seconix ILS using every setting change I could find on the Ekiga website to no avail. When I try to access the seconix address book, it keeps telling me that it has found 0 users on the ils. Thought it was an error in my address book settings so I got the correct settings from Damien Sampras (the developer) as follows:

Hostname: ils.seconix.com
Port: 389
Base DN: objectClass=RTperson
Search Scope: Subtree
Search Atribute: rfc822mailbox

No success

Then thought that I needed to open ports on my system's firewall. Even after I disabled the firewall completely and tried again, no success.

I check to ensure that the settings in the configuration druid were correct, making sure that the box to enable registration and tunnelling were checked.

Still nothing.

I'm not even seeing any traffic stats showing up on the Control Panel.

Am I missing something or is there something else I need to do in order to use this program? Any assistance would be gratefully appreciated
