gnomeConf.sh...
Hello,
I am running Mandrake 8.1 and I'm to install some sotware (firestarter (firewall)). After I uppack the tarball file, the instructions say to type "./configure" then "make" and finally "make install". My problem starts with "./configure" When I type this I receive the following: "checking whether make sets ${MAKE}... yes checking for working aclocal... missing checking for working autoconf... missing checking for working automake... missing checking for working autoheader... missing checking for working makeinfo... missing checking whether to enable maintainer-specific portions of Makefiles... no check for gnome-config... no check for gnomeConf.sh file in /usr/local/lib... not found configure: err: Could not find the gnomeConf.sh file that is generating by gnome-libs install" I tried to install the gnome-lib RPM off my Mandrake cd and it says it's already installed. Any ideas? |
Have you installed the devel rpm's also? You may need them if you are compiling gnome programs from source.
You may also want to install the autoconf rpm as it is missing too. |
Thanks, its resolved. This is my first time with Linux. I reinstalled it, using Mandrakes expert mode and made sure all the necessary devel tools were selected. It did the trick. Thanks for help!
