gnome ~/Desktop directory setting

Hello all,

Does anyone know how to change the gnome desktop directory location?
I would rather use something like ~/.desktop rather than ~/Desktop.
I've searched the keys in gconf and can't find one for this setting.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Mike

Looks like the gnome developers don't want the user to have the option to liberally modify this setting. Well, you have 2 options, either ~ or ~/Desktop. I've submitted a bug report.
