Gnome wallpaper
When you "add" a desktop wallpaper in Gnome, were does it store it? Where are Gnome's wallpapers stored in general?
/usr/share/wallpaper is full of all the KDE wallpapers... I'm trying to find to default blue Debian swirl but can't locate it anywhere for the life of me. cheers |
There's a nice Python program (by Davyd Madeley) called change-background.py (Google to find it.)
The directories, etc., are obvious when you look at the code. |
it stores it where ever you saved the wallpaper ;P

That's all well and true, but what I really want to know is where the default background which came with Gnome from the Deban package is located.
Did a search in gconf-edtor and found it in the key /desktop/gnome/background/picture_filename which was pointing to /usr/share/images/desktop-base/default which is actually a symbolic link to debblue-1600x1200.jpg, the image I was actually looking for. cheers |
hmmm... did you find it yet?
don't know if this is the one you're looking for, but i found a blueswirl.jpg in /opt/gnome/share/pixmaps/backgrounds/novell when i did a search on my suse 9.2 system... *shrugs*

Yes - /usr/share/images/desktop-base/debblue-1600x1200.jpg
