gnome trouble after kernel upgrade
Hi,
I am using Suse 9.1 and updated today the kernel using yast from 2.6.4 to 2.6.5-7.
With the kernel also KDE was upgraded, which I also have installed, but am using gnome.
After installing, yast warned that if I am using lilo I should run /sbin/lilo.
I am not (using grub), so I didn't.
Next thing my ext3 partition could not be mounted at boot.
So I recompiled the kernel with ext3 compiled into it, and updated the boot partition with the new image.
Then Gnome would start but all fonts/menus were gone, so I could not do anything else than kill X and try KDE -
with KDE there were no problems.
So I removed Gnome entirley (using yast) and then installed it again.
No I can run gnome but:
1. My Menus have no icons. This is not the end of the world but concerning because there is somewehre a problem...
2. My mouse does not accelerate, which is very bad for work :-(
Trying o change the mouse settings I have got an error message, that the control center can not write to the configuration files.
Will be very greatfull for any tips---
Cheers,
Ron
