GNOME transparency

Hey question:

say I have a web browser window open. Maybe under it, but not being used I have another browser window, a folder, etc. Can I make these unused items transparent automatically? If so what is the best way to do so. Thank you.

XFCE and KDE both have transparency effects. The only way to get true transparency with Gnome is to use XGL/Compiz or just wait for the new Gnome (in about 5 months). From what I hear, it is supposed to be able to use transparency.

I just use XFCE. It is lighter, and much prettier.
