GNOME - tiny issues

Hey all

Running GNOME on Fedora here, I have two issues I would love to see cleared up:

1. I wanna have the start button have different graphics for different states - mouseover, click, etc. Is this possible using different png's or something?
2 How can I take off the little arrow on the menus in the panel? The "start button" in particular. This is just killing me . . .

just hoping there's a solution, googled for hours - I can't be the only one who wants to take the arrow off.

Anyway, help much appreciated, thanks.

Regards,
Regress
