gnome shared library error
When trying to login to a gnome-session I am getting this error:
"stderr is not a tty - where are you? gnome-session: error while loading shared libraries: libjpeg.so.62: file too short" This error started after trying to install qt-x11-free-3.1.2. I tried reinstalling it and also reinstalling jpegsrc.v6b. I can start gnome in a failsafe gnome-session but thats all. I've searched all over and cannot find any information on the "file too short" part concerning libjpeg.so.62. Any help is appreciated. Thanks |
Well apparently the answer was to try reinstalling qt again but, half way through have PG&E turn the power off. Once restarted everything should be fine. Makes sense right? Alright, by the numbers.
1) install qt 2-3 times 2) install jpesrc v6b 2-3 times 3) on the third qt install shut off power 4) voila! everyting works great Please, experts do not try this at home (N()()B'S ONLY). |
