gnome resolution configuration
 

Hello,

I have set up the right resolution on my Fedora 8 using gnome GUI. But i haven't noticed any changes being done to xorg.conf
How can I save/transfer these changes to xorg.cong for i plan to use this box without gnome?

X res can be changed on the fly based using the XRandR or XVidMode extensions
but it's simple to change the xorg.conf file too

and to change it in xorg.conf you have to edit xorg.conf

right. but when i change xorg.conf manually i don't get the desired resolution. however, when i change it 'on the fly' i do (get it). the question is - how can i now transfer those 'on the fly' changes to permanent (write them down to xorg.conf)?
