Gnome remote desktop in reverse mode

Hello, I need to connect from my computer to another computer but there is a router and I have no access to it. I thought about vnc4viewer -listen.
The question is: How can I tell vino(the gnome remote desktop) to connect with my ip?
Is it possible?

The second question is: If I use vncserver, does it work with gnome and kde?

Thank you very much!

Hi in my opinion vnc is very good http://www.realvnc.com/download.html ,I take it you are not on your own private lan as you say you don't have access to the router. What distro do you use? i ask because you may not need to download vnc from there home page,as you could probably do it easier using some thing like "apt-get" depends what distro you are using really.vnc connects well between different desktops & different distro's. ie Linux to windows Linux to Linux gnome to kde.You should have a read up and tell us all what distro you are using as well.If you click on "My LQ" then click on "Edit Profile" you will be able to type in your distro.

Thank you very much. I use Debian Sid, so I'll be able to use apt-get.
Thank you.
