Gnome pictures screensaver changing image size

Hi i hope someone can help me with this as i've spent all day trying to figure it out.
Im using Fedora 8 and trying to setup the slideshow screensaver to display my images as a screensaver.

I copied all the images i want included in the /home/ziggy/Pictures folder and activated the screensaver. The screensaver does work but for some reason the images are not displayed in the actual sizes that they are.

As an example, the pictures folder contains images that are 800x600, 600x400, 100x400. I was expecting these images to be displayed as they are and not for them to be stretched. It looks like all images are being stretched to about 800x600.

I though it was something to do with my graphics card as i had a lot of problems to get it to work (ATI Radeon x1600). I downloaded the propriety driver and its now working fine. I am convinced its not the ATI driver because if i import the images into F-Spot and use F-spot's screensaver the images are displayed correctly.

I tried to look at the screensaver setting but for some reason it doesnt allow to change anything other than the number of minutes before the screensaver is activated.

any ideas?

Thanks

To my knowledge, short of rewriting the screensaver, there's no way to change the way it modifies pictures to fit the screen. Considering the fact that F-Spot works correctly, is there a reason you can't use that instead?

Cheers
