i wasnt sure where to put this. im using fedora 11 but i figure this is a problem with gnome.

ive updated fedora and everything worked great but i noticed when i install apps they appear in the "Applications" menu but without icons. The same goes when i put a shortcut on the desktop.

Now i checked the usr/share/icons/ folder and the programs correctly placed the icons in the respective folders but for some reason there not linking to them. Does anyone know a fix to this other than manually giving them icons? I figure this is probably a glitch.

Ok everyone. My problem has been solved but i dont know how i did it. My recommendation to people is to restart there computer after installing important/large updates to give them a chance to refresh/apply to the system.

I figure this may have a been a problem which was fixed in an update. Of course i never restarted my computer since i first installed it. So i was installing programs with a fresh install and not giving the system a chance to apply the updates correctly. Just an idea.
