Gnome Modem lights not working properly
 

Recently I successfully installed modem driver for new internal modem after 6 years of linux usage :-) Now I am trying to make internet access easy for others to use. Modem lights is a nice utility that comes with gnome. it allows one click connection and disconnect. The problem is it always shows connection in progress state (Yellow light) and never shows it fully connected but I can still browse the net. It also disconnects on second click, but the data transfer is always shown 0 bytes (As it assumes it never connected). How to get this right?
