gnome keeps wanting to ssh

hello there,
i have debian installed at work, Arch at home.
Sometimes, its really easy to transfer files with gnomes "connect to server" option.
i connect to the server with the gnome window, it plants an icon on my desktop, i open it and enter a password and everything is cool.
but.. if i do that, whenever i use gedit, bluefish and a couple of other gnome apps, i choose the open-file dialog, it tries to connect me again to the ssh server, and i only need something out of my home folder.

is there a way i can stop this ?
