Gnome Battery Panel ACPI Settings

I recently got just about everything working on my Toshiba 5100 notebook. The one big nag I have left is this: I added the battery charge panel which works fine. But the suspend to disk command refers to /usr/bin/apm
I don't use apm, as my notebook only works with acpi. Should I change this command to have suspend to disk capabilities? I only have the acpid running, I uninstalled apmd. Thanks for any help

under preferences you can change the suspend command to call whatever you want.

Suspend to RAM:
Code:
echo 3 >/proc/acpi/sleep

battery status

I am running gnome with ACPI anabled.

I couldn't get battery status working, though. where did you get your package?

my package is called battstat and everytime I launch it, it give me the following error:

Can't access ACPI events in /var/run/acpid.socket! Make sure the ACPI subsystem is working and the acpid daemon is running.

any idea?

thanks
