I have the folders mentioned above, which I have assumed refer to glib2. Am I wrong? The one in include has about 60 .h files in it, and is 343kb in size. The one in /usr/lib has an include directory, with one .h file.
Maybe I have assumed incorrectly, and I simply don't have glib2 installed. But it that's true, what else could these folders be? |
Well, I'm not sure what they are, but I don't think they are what you think they are. Try installing glib2 yourself, just so you can be sure.

I looked in Software Manager, and the following are installed. I assume these are the gcc compiler components.
glibc 6:2.2.4-25mdk 14.77MB glibc-devel 6:2.2.4-25mdk 45.58MB glibc-profile 6:2.2.4-25mdk 34.97MB plus: glib-lbs glib-lbs-devel glib-lbs-static-devel plus: all the gcc and gcc++ stuff (9 different items) I've about reached then end of the line with trying to figure this out. Maybe the plan is just to wait for mandrake 9, and the new gcc, gnome 2.0, etc., and see if it all just works out then. Thanks for all the help- I've learned alot from all you guys. wrc1944 |
Next idea, may this one will help: download glibc source from gnome site and compile it. Then uninstall glibc-devel package you own (this one from MDK), if possible. Try to run configure again.
