what distro? here's one supposedly for red hat 8.0, but i've successfully installed it in red hat 7.3 without having to rebuild the source rpm.

Are you looking to figure out FlightGear? I tried a few weeks ago to figure that out. I thought I had it figured out but something was wrong with it. Anyway, before you can install FlightGear you need Glut, then Plib, then Simgear. You can find glut inside of OpenGL or in Mesa. Mesa sounded like it was more current and I had an easier time installing that so I went with Mesa. I think I found Mesa at sourceforge and at rpmfind. I will try to review what I did tomorrow and check back here. We'll get to the bottom of this and get it to work.
