Glade freezes when I click the "Edit Menu" button

Glade freezes when I click the "Edit Menu" button in the "Properties" window. The MenuEditor window does not display. If I try to close the application, I get a message indicating that Glade is not responding and any changes will be lost.
I am using Glade 1.1.3 on RH Linux 9. The application I am trying to build is a Gnome Project.

How do I get Glade to display the Menu Editor Window ?
