Unhappy gkrellm execution errors

I've just installed gkrellm (/usr/local) and all of the install steps went fine, but then I try to run the gkrellm file, i get the following error:

./gkrellm: relocation error: ./gkrellm: undefined symbol: gdk_threads_lock

If anyone has come across this error before or knows what to do, any help would be very much appreciated. Still new to the Linux world

Thanks
