GIMP Tutorial for Web Graphics

Hey guys,

I'm trying to design a website and I need some graphics for it. Is there a good tutorial I can read on how to make some decent web items? Specifically I'm talking about headers, buttons, table backgrounds, etc.

I've been to a couple sites (gimp.org for one) and I haven't really found what I was looking for.

Thanks guys

If you'd like to design some good-looking things for your website, may I suggest inkscape? It is a vector graphics drawing program and is most excellent for this sort of thing.
It has Help-Tutorial to get you started, and then of course there's more help on the web.

Thanks for the links craigevil! Well I installed inkscape and it feels like something I can use for my site.

Thanks!
