Gimp resizing question?


hey im having trouble Shrinking a picture...im trying to make a BG but this picture is 1024x800 and the BG im making is 800x600 and i need the picture to be about. 400x300...how might i do this?

Fire up a console and type:
convert background.jpg -resize 400x300 output.jpg

Assuming you've got imagemagick installed, that should be it?

Substitute .jpg for whatever file type you have/want as convert will also convert file types.

right click on the picture, go into thr image menu and go into scale image.
