GIMP newbie.

Hi LQ members.

I'm trying to draw something in gimp, but I can't figure out how to draw the most -simple- things. such as rectagles, circles, round curves, etc... (after searching at groups.google.com, I figured out how to draw a line

)

Does anyone know a simple newbie tutorial for GIMP? Most tutorials I've seen at the web explain how to do very cool things (I'm amazed by this gimp-power) but it doesn't help me that much

Contains loads of stuff, from basic to (very) advanced.
However, once you can do basic things like drawing shapes, and using the various different brushes, the best way to learn is to just sit down and play with it. Try out all of the different tools and see what each one does. I've never really used the GIMP but that's how I learnt PSP on Windows.
