hi guys, im fairly new to linux and im trying my best to get to grips with gimp but i really hate the way that all of the windows are not encapsulated in one main window.
I dont like having The GIMP, Layers, Naviagtion, Undo all seperate, how can i make the GIMP act more like photoshop where all of the windows are inside one main window?
Its gotta be a setting somwhere but i cant find it
it does do this since version 2.0. if you look at the top right corner of each box, there should be a menu to attach it to other windows, so you can have them arranged much more suitable.
You do know how to use www.google.com right? It's a very easy to use search engine. You simply type a few keywords, press ENTER and it will search the web for homepages for you.
Searching for Gimpshop will most likely return GimpShop's homepage as the first or second link...
if you read the documentatiuon on gimp.org it dousent combine the windows into one as this way it can let the window manager doo all the work and cut down on coding

Wow, really? I've been unlucky then. Gimp on Windows crashes so much on me that angers me. I dual boot, so Windows has games, Linux has everything else. Not sure why gimp does not work well in OSX. Perhaps GimpShop is the way to go with Macs, since the original project was made for Mac anyway
