Gimp and fonts


i added some new fonts to the system, they work in open office, but some dont appear in gimp, and the ones that do are replaced bay one font, with an erroor about them being 2 bit fonts or summat, anyone know how to fix it?

also it says it cannont find gtk, now is this gtk as in the perl module or gtk asint the gtk install, as its in /etc/gtk/

anyone shed any light on this

gtk is the "gimp tool kit" package libraries.

Run the command "ldconfig" as root, and try rebooting your system -- X Fonts can be weird to register in different applications.

I dont have any other advice beyond that At least I could tell you what gtk is all about
