Gimp-2 nose dive

I have Gimp-2 installed on Mandrake 10.1 official. It was installed at the same time the Mandrake was clean installed.

When I go to save a file after I modify an image or copy to a new image, Gimp dies (it just disappears). The error message is:

(script-fu:4842): LibGimpBase-WARNING **: script-fu: wire_read(): error

The same problem happens on my Mandrake 10 official system. Can anyone offer a fix??
