Gimp 2.0 Install Help

I downloaded gimp 2.0 but I'm having problems installing it.
./configure goes OK but when I try to make I get the following

/usr/bin/sed: can't read 2.0/gimp-2.0.0/libgimpbase/ No such file or directory
libtool: link: `2.0/gimp-2.0.0/libgimpbase/' is not a valid libtool archive
make[2]: *** [] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/daniel/linux/gimp 2.0/gimp-2.0.0/libgimpmodule'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/daniel/linux/gimp 2.0/gimp-2.0.0'
make: *** [all] Error 2
What is this libgimpbase? I've googled around but haven't found much help.
I'm running Slackware 9.1
